LOVE LETTERS (2019)
For the second time in my practice I have been drawn to predictive text. You’ll recognise this form -using text algorithms and a digital voice simulation- from my project Intelligence, where I applied the same method to the concept of the natural world. As a tool it seems to boil down the expression of affection into a tangle of emotion and humour that the almost extinct ‘love letter’ could perhaps never achieve.
These are not distorted love letters, they’re something more intimate. Perhaps they don’t reveal anything; perhaps they are just a meaningless jumble of words; but who knew our phones could mimic and regurgitate such beauty.
My heart is literally just being a mess right now and it’s nothing to do with my hair so I’m just gonna see you in my face and bring some more of your time off to the next week or something like that. Holding hands on the Monday morning to come home and is there a way we could meet at the sea and be home? I lied about the same thing and it was just a horrible thing to say to you my friend and my lovely woman. Your lips look like a good thing to do and none of them with my hair and my body and my life even though I’m so glad that you’re my best to be with.
Sighs a little too much for her to be happy with the night and I just wanna cry like a girl. Beds were here and we were not able to get the food to the room so we had to wait for a bit. Love me this morning so I can do something to make sure you have a good day love. Sex the world of us and we all know what it was really like this morning for me and you.
Love is so cool to play with my new home and chat to my new friend. I love you too much to say that’ll work out for me. Flowers for Christmas Day the sun has come back from the snow of course. Chocolate is the only way to make a new piece of art for me haha I love it so much and it’s so gorgeous out here so gorgeous I wanna see you next weekend. Beautiful girl I wanna know how you’re feeling so good I wanna see you in my room again and then I’ll give you my new phone call so you can tell me where there’s no one else in the room.
